Anyway I don’t care how much or how little you hate pedophiles, emotions aren’t activism nor do they protect children, but if you think they shouldn’t have access to mental health care and basic social services then you are pro child abuse.
Calling people (such as, in this case, Tumblr user queeranarchism) “pedo supporters”, and starting whisper campaigns against them, for… wanting to keep their communities safe from child predators?
That is pro child abuse behavior. The people who are doing that are enabling child abusers.
Child abuse is wrong. Supporting and enabling it is wrong.
The fact that you might feel a sense of righteous anger while doing a harmful thing doesn’t magically make it a good thing. Intent is not impact.
Tumblr needs to go back to SJ 101 and not sleep through it in the back of the classroom this time.
Ya know what? THIS!
I’ve been a little busy making sure people know my real opinions instead of their slander, but it is definitely worth pointing out how harmful their behavior is.
Trying to isolate and damage the mental health of people who experience attraction to children, while trying to limit
access to mental health care, makes harm against children more likely to occur. This behavior enables child abuse.
Using online bullying campaigns to try to stop people from having sensible conversations about what actually prevents abuse,
makes harm against children more likely to occur.
This
behavior
enables child abuse.
Starting whisper campaigns
and calling people pedophiles because they disagree with you on how best to protect children, makes it more difficult to find accurate information about real predators. This
behavior
enables child abuse.
So if you’re looking for people on Tumblr who are enabling child abuse, you should not be looking at me, you should be looking at Tumblr users like nonbinaryjimin, lord-kitschener, skramza-stark and their anon friends. That’s who are making actual abuse more likely, not me.
The fact that you might feel a sense of righteous anger while doing a
harmful thing doesn’t magically make it a good thing. Intent is not
impact.
