queeranarchism:

Explicitly include antisemitism in your word string of racism, sexism, transphobia etc that isn’t welcome in your safe space.

Explicitly include antisemitism in your anti-fascist texts.

Explicitly include antisemitism in your approach to intersectionality.

It’s not optional. Include that shit.

Reblogging this, but commenting with a followup question: does opposition to racism not inherently include opposition to antisemitism?

Well, it should – but in reality it’s a bit different, since Judaism is an ethnoreligion, meaning that it’s both ethnicity and religion. This is one of the reasons antisemitism can flourish in antiracist crowds – people tend to use “but being Jewish is just about religion” as a defence. Also, there’s the tendency to equate being Jewish with agreeing with Israeli politics, which means that a lot of Jewish people are forced to choose between being openly Jewish and being in anti-racist spaces

Yeah. I wish anti-semitism was consistently an important part of anti-racist and anti-fascist activism. It SHOULD be. But at present it really isn’t and the only way that can change it by prioritizing and explicitly mentioning it.
