thearmlessmaiden: ““Sickness” as we speak of it today is a capitalist construct, as is its perceived binary opposite, “wellness.” The “well” person is the person well enough to go to work. The “sick” person is the one who can’t. What is so destructive about conceiving of wellness as the default, as the standard mode of … Continue reading

We won’t save the Earth with a better kind of disposable coffee cup | George Monbiot
tofugoddess: “Even marine plastic is in large part a fishing issue. It turns out that 46% of the Great Pacific garbage patch – which has come to symbolise our throwaway society – is composed of discarded nets, and much of the rest consists of other kinds of fishing gear. This may not seem obvious as fascists usually aren’t talking about killing you and that isn’t among their main intentions. But they will kill you. Maybe fascists will kill you because you were disobedient. … Continue reading I want white men to know that fascists will kill them.
Microaggressions are often represented as little pokes throughout the day that eventually leave you bruised and tired. In that scenario one micro-aggression isn’t bad, but a hundred of them are. But microaggressions are reminders that there is a force present that threatens your survival. So a single micro-aggression can send your survival instinct into ‘ALERT. … Continue reading

Because real actual feminists would … Continue reading
