actupny: On Friday, July 27, 2018, ACT UP NY went to the Whitney Museum’s evening hours and stood silently next to specific artworks in both the Incomplete History of Protest and David Wojnarowicz exhibits, holding framed recent news articles about the HIV/AIDS epidemic that were formatted to look like museum plaques. Dallas Queerbomb this year was nowhere near it’s financial goal by the time it was happening and the donation page had been up, I think, all year.
I have never been to Queerbomb, so I can’t really comment on that event. color-theorist: leproblematique: lines-and-edges: slightmayhem: asynca: With my own eyes, I just saw a lesbian on twitter say she was being oppressed by asexual folks because their flag is everywhere, and it’s asexual people’s fault that lesbians are now ‘the last on the conveyor belt in the LGBT community’. Like. Dude, if you need a scapegoat for … Continue reading
steph-mcmillan: NGOs* are cages. We really need to understand the methods used by NGOs to undermine radical political organizing efforts and divert us into political dead ends. The climate march is a good case study because it’s so blatant. In South Florida, we saw the exact same process after the BP oil spill. Once the … Continue reading
