The TERF position falls through completely when you realize that even cis women’s experience of patriarchy aren’t universal. A white abled cis lesbian will never know the struggles of being a bisexual black woman with a mental illness. If you think that women’s oppression is universal, chances are it’s the only kind of oppression you’ve really experienced. Chances are you are also lowkey racist.

Absolutely true. They also create an illusion of safety. I feel like social justice movements at large should make more of an effort to distinguish safe spaces from activism and education spaces. They serve different purposes, have different needs, and need different rules. People may be confusing and oversimplifying them.
