“On Tuesday morning at 9:30am, I was brutalized by 2 Dutch male police officers, arrested, and thrown into jail – while on my way to work, on the grounds of the International Court of Justice, in front of the French Embassy – and I ended up in the hospital swollen, bruised, and injured.
I am a lawyer working at the International Court of Justice, the principal judicial organ of the United Nations – but that did not save my black body from racially-motivated police brutality.”

I wanna add something here in that the police supposedly released the footage to multiple news outlets, and they all claim she’s lying.

HOWEVER, the big but here is that news outlets in the Netherlands really follow press releases from the police up to a letter and have serious bootlicking issues. ALSO a big but is that this footage hasn’t been released to the public yet as far as I know. I might be paranoid about it but honestly a lot of things don’t add up.

She has since removed her post, her employer has ‘apoligized’ for her facebook post and the police ‘have dropped the charges against her as a result’. The video still has not been released.
Which raises questions. If nothing happened, why not release the video? And why would she write the post in the first place? If she ‘resisted very violently’ as police claim why were the charged dropped? And dropped AFTER she removed her post?
Isn’t it more likely that a young woman at the start of a career in law was threatened with criminal charges that would force her out of her job? That she found out her employer would not support het and she was coerced into removing her story as a result?

Everything about this story is suspisious.

Update: police and media lied.

The International Court of Justice has reported that it never apoligized for

Chaka Laguerre’s facebook post.

Meanwhile

Chaka Laguerre’s lawyer has released a statement reporting that:

  • The video does not show that Ms. Laguerre

    resisted arrest.

  • The video does not show that

    Ms.

Laguerre refused to show ID. She in fact carried two pieces of identification, one of which dropped on the ground as she was pulled backwards by police, the other was in her bag which she did not get a chance to reach.

  • The video does not show that Ms.

Laguerre even committed the minor traffic violation she was accussed of in the first place (crossing the road diagonally).

  •  Ms. Laguerre’s lawyer is demanding that all CCTV images on the incident be released to the public as the reports by the ‘selected media’ allowed to view the material are very far from accurate.
