Hey there, bit of a personal question for a change. I’m looking for advice from non-binary & trans-feminine people who are balding and do not want to wear wigs or change their hormone situation.
How do you cope with getting bald and with how consistently that gets read as ‘male’ by society? Do you just rock it? Do you shave away all your hair to hide it? Do you wear cute hats as much as possible? (and if so, how do you deal with spaces like a workplace where that is not accepted?)
I am struggling to maintain a space where I feel comfortable with how I look. I am trying to find comfort in the discrepancy between my non-binary and pretty feminine identity and my changing body. On top of my non-binary identity, I feel frustrated as a queer punk that still wanted to try a thousand wild hair colors and who travels in a subculture that doesn’t have a lot of people looking ‘old’. I feel like I’m losing a big part of my queer self-expression.
So anything, practical advice or positive examples of balding non-binary people would be awesome. Or just people with similar experiences that wanna talk.
